Engine Selection
Not all engines are built the same. Engines with the same horsepower rating by different manufacturers may perform differently. Natural Gas Engines vary by many factors such as power, fuel consumption, emission footprint, performance, etc. These factors depend on site and operating conditions (elevation, maximum ambient temperature, fuel gas, engine load, operating speed etc.) Some of these factors are fixed and some factors are variable. For instance, how to choose the best fit to your application? Do you need the engine which tolerates with fluctuation of fuel gas composition? Do you have concerns about fuel economy? Are emission regulations critical to your application? Do you have Sour Gas in fuel supply? Which engine will better fit your application: Caterpillar with the ADEM 4 control system or the Waukesha ESM2? There are a lot of considerations. ASK Engine Consulting can help you make the best decision. |
